Creating Spiritual Success on Your “Wheel of Life”
The “Wheel of Life,” as created by Zig Ziglar, is comprised of seven spokes:
When we consider the idea that true success is when we achieve balance, then a successful “Wheel of Life” is when all seven spokes are even and working harmoniously.
Today, I’d like to touch on one spoke, which means a lot to me and influences much of what I do and how I conduct my life: the spiritual spoke.
Spirituality can mean a TON of different things to different people. In fact, I don’t believe spirituality has one prevailing definition, yet for many of us, we define our spirituality by our relation to God or a higher power.
Spiritual success is inherently unique because it has nothing to do with material possession or how the outside world measures your success.
Spiritual success has everything to do with the caliber of your character and how you impact the lives of others.
Spiritual success is defined by your:
Many times, there are areas in life where we believe we are destined to fail; where we can not succeed and simply don’t see it in the cards for ourselves. Do you have an area like that in your life? Define it.
Perhaps, it’s financial: “I’ll never be rich or live a comfortable lifestyle.”
Or physical: “I just can’t lose the weight — I’ll always look like this.”
Maybe it’s to do with your career: “I can’t do any better than this — I’m just not good enough.”
All of these assumptions are lies we tell ourselves because we are afraid; afraid of failure and success. Somewhere down the line, you stopped believing in yourself.
Something happened to dampen your spirit and made you believe you were weak or incapable. You lost your faith and neglected the spiritual component of your life.
I challenge you to regain success in your spiritual life. Like I said, it can look a multitude of different ways:
These are just a few examples — it’s really up to you, how you define spirituality in your life.
Finally, spirituality goes a long way in impacting the legacy you leave on this Earth. How do you want to change the lives of others?
How do you want to be remembered after you’re gone? Wealth, things and material possession will fade, but the energy, passion, devotion and love you impart on others will last long beyond your departure.
