6 Ways to Stay on Track with Your Goals, Even During the Holidays
Just because the holidays have rolled around, doesn’t mean you should lose steam on your goals. In fact, now is a better time than ever to double down and revisit the ambitions you set out at the beginning of the year.
I always like to take some time during the holidays for reflection to think about what I set out to accomplish at the beginning of the year and what I’ve achieved; what I’m grateful for and what I envision for the future.
To keep you on track during the busiest time of the year, consider the following advice.
Now, more than ever you should be making the most of your Fridays and not treating them like “throwaway” workdays.
Block out your calendar on Friday afternoon and dedicate it to ending the week on a high note.
Set your sights on accomplishing anything you missed during the week and things that will prepare you for the week ahead.
I love to-do lists but can easily lose sights of my priorities if I don’t establish what is most important to accomplish, especially before the end of the year.
One of my favorite tricks is the “Power of Three:”
Whatever isn’t accomplished during the day, rolls over to tomorrow.
Writing what you want to accomplish is a powerful affirmation and can help you visualize the end goal.
Come up with a sentence or two, which encompasses your goal. For example:
Get specific with what you want to accomplish and try not to spread yourself too thin. Achieving a few things really well is better than going half at it with a dozen goals.
Establish incremental, achievable steps and tick each off as you go along.
Relax, decompress, unplug from work and enjoy yourself! It’s incredibly important to take time for yourself and your loved ones so that you can re-energize and re-ignite your passion.
Do you want to leave a legacy? What better way than by sharing your story and getting it into the hands of those who need it most.
“Book Bound by the Sea” will help you do just that. This January dozens of soon-to-be authors will be one step closer to publishing their book. Stop dreaming about writing your book and finally become an author at “Book Bound by the Sea!”
